Monk's Hat Buns

Ingredients

flour
baking powder
beef and lamb (washed, ground into mince)
yellow soybean paste
salt
oil
chopped cabbage
chopped scallions
minced ginger

Instructions

Step 1

Pour the flour into a container, add the baking powder and mix well, add water to form a leavened dough, knead until smooth and let rest briefly.

Wash the beef and lamb, grind into mince, then add yellow soybean paste, salt, oil, chopped cabbage, chopped scallions, and minced ginger, and mix well to form the bun filling.

Roll the rested dough into a long strip, divide into small portions (3 pieces per 50g), press flat, spread the filling on top, pinch the edges closed using the thumb and forefinger to seal the bun opening, shape into a monk's hat form, and steam in the steamer for 10 minutes until done.
