Prepare the ingredients
Gather all the necessary ingredients.

Marinate the cucumber
Peel the cucumber, remove the seeds, and cut into strips. Marinate with an appropriate amount of salt, sugar, and vinegar for about 15 minutes.

Prepare aromatics
Smash the garlic, and slice the chili peppers and ginger into strips.

Heat the oil
Place a wok over heat and add oil. Heat until smoking, then pour the hot oil over the garlic, chili, ginger, and Sichuan peppercorn placed on top of the cucumber.
