Pan-Fried Pork Cheek

Story

This quick, approachable pan-fried pork cheek dish is perfect for casual weeknight dinners, and the natural, savory flavor of the meat really shines when you use fresh, high-quality ingredients for a satisfying, no-fuss home-cooked meal.

Ingredients

pork jowl 1 slice
ginger 1 small piece
rock salt to taste
rice wine a pinch

Instructions

1

Step 1

Marinate with a small amount of rice wine for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Dry pan-fry. Flip once the meat renders oil, add sliced ginger, then pan-fry over low heat until both sides are golden brown (the pork is thick: after flipping, you can add half a bowl of water to braise, or score diagonal slits on the thicker parts of the pork slices to cook through faster).

Step 3

Once the pan-fried pork jowl is done, sprinkle with an appropriate amount of rock salt and it tastes delicious.
