Pepper-Salt Tofu

Ingredients

tofu (cut into small cubes after rinsing) 250 g
red chili pepper (stem and seeds removed, cut into rings) 1
green chili pepper (stem and seeds removed, cut into rings) 1
scallions (finely chopped) 1
garlic (sliced) 6 cloves
cooking oil (for deep-frying) 40 g used
ground black pepper 2 tsp
Sichuan pepper salt 2 tsp
fine salt 2 tsp
monosodium glutamate 2 tsp

Instructions

1

Prepare the ingredients

Rinse the tofu and cut it into small cubes. Remove the stems and seeds from the green and red chili peppers, then cut them into rings. Finely chop the scallions and slice the garlic.

2

Deep-fry the tofu

Pour the oil into a wok and heat it until hot but not smoking. Add the tofu cubes and fry them until golden brown, then remove and drain them.

3

Cook the pepper-salt seasoning

Leave a little oil in the wok and stir-fry the chopped scallions and sliced garlic over high heat until fragrant. Add the chili rings, fine salt, monosodium glutamate, ground black pepper, and Sichuan pepper salt. Stir until evenly combined, then transfer to a serving dish.

4

Combine and serve

Toss the fried tofu with all the seasonings and serve.
