Potato Pork Rib Soup

Ingredients

Pork ribs (chopped into small pieces, washed and drained) 1000 g
Potato (peeled and cut into chunks) 500 g
Large green onion (cut into sections, or tie 5-6 stalks of small scallion into a knot) 1
Ginger 5 slices
Shaoxing wine to taste
Salt to taste
MSG to taste

Instructions

Prep

Chop the pork ribs into small pieces, wash and drain; peel the potato and cut into appropriate chunks; cut the large green onion into sections (tie the small scallions into a knot).

Blanch

Place the pork ribs in a pot of boiling water and blanch for 5 minutes, then remove and rinse with clean water.

Stew

Combine the pork ribs, green onion, ginger, Shaoxing wine, and an appropriate amount of water in a pot. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer until half-cooked. Add the potato and continue stewing until completely tender. Season with salt and MSG before serving.
