Pumpkin and Pork Ribs in a Cup

Story

A golden pumpkin bowl holds tender, marinated ribs, allowing the vegetable's natural sweetness to meld with the savory meat during steaming.

Ingredients

Pork ribs 300g
Golden pumpkin 1 piece
Salt 3g
Whole fermented black beans 15g
Scallion 1 stalk
Sugar 6g
Cooking wine 20g
Soy sauce 12g
Soybeans 10g
Cornstarch 2g
Garlic 3 cloves
Ginger 5g

Instructions

1

Step 1

Mince the garlic, white part of the scallion, and ginger separately; chop the whole fermented black beans slightly.

2

Step 2

After cleaning the pork ribs, pat them dry with kitchen paper, then add all seasonings and the various minced ingredients.

3

Step 3

Mix evenly by hand, cover with plastic wrap, and marinate for 15 minutes.

4

Step 4

After washing the pumpkin, cut off the top 1/3, and use a small knife to score a circle 1cm from the edge.

5

Step 5

Scoop out the flesh to form a pumpkin bowl, then evenly rub 2g of salt inside the cavity, let sit for 5 minutes, and place on a plate.

6

Step 6

Place the marinated pork ribs inside the pumpkin bowl, and place the plate on a steaming tray.

7

Step 7

Start the steam oven in pure steam mode; when the temperature reaches 100°C, place the steaming tray on the lower level of the steam oven and steam for 1 hour.
