Story

These cheese dinner rolls bring the simple pleasure of warm, homemade bread to any meal. The soft dough encases pockets of melted cheese, while the egg wash and sesame topping give each roll a beautiful golden crust. They're the kind of humble, satisfying baked good that makes a meal feel complete.

Ingredients

bread flour 350g
egg 1
milk 210g
cheese slices 4 slices
sugar 50g
yeast 5g
salt 2g
white sesame seeds as needed
butter 15g

Instructions

Step 1

Place all the ingredients into the bread container, except for the butter, and knead the dough for 20 minutes

Add the butter and continue kneading for 30 minutes

After shaping, place in the bread container for fermentation

Ferment until 2 to 2.5 times the original size

Tear the cheese slices into pieces and place in a bowl

Punch down to release air, divide the dough into 9 small portions

Take one portion of dough, flatten it, and place cheese on top

Pinch the edges together and roll into a round ball

Place on a baking tray for the second fermentation

Ferment until 2 times the size, brush with egg wash, sprinkle with white sesame seeds, preheat the oven to 180°C for 5 minutes, bake with top and bottom heat for 20 minutes
