Red Fruit French Toast
A classic French dessert made by dipping bread slices in an egg and milk mixture, pan-frying until golden, and serving with warmed red fruit.
Ingredients
bread slices (or day-old brioche) (use thicker stale bread)
8 slices
whole milk
50 cl
eggs

caster sugar

vegetable oil

butter
2 small pieces
red fruits (raspberries, red currants, black currants, etc.)

Instructions

Prepare Egg-Milk Mixture
Crack the eggs into a deep dish, add the sugar, and beat evenly with a fork. Pour in the milk.

Fry the Bread
Heat 1 small piece of butter and 1 tbsp of oil in a frying pan. Quickly dip the bread slices in the milk, then coat them with the egg mixture, place them in the pan and fry until golden, then flip and continue frying.

Heat the Fruits
Heat the remaining butter in another frying pan, add the red fruits, and stir gently while heating.

Serve
Serve the French toast while hot, top with a layer of red fruits, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
