Sesame Strips
A traditional Jiangsu-style deep-fried snack with a golden color and a crisp, sweet texture.

Refined white flour (main ingredient)

900 g (about 80 g actually used)
Dry starch (seasoning, for preventing sticking)

Refined white sugar (seasoning)

Kneading the dough
Place the flour on a work surface, make a well in the center, crack the eggs into the well, add the sesame seeds and sugar, mix well and knead thoroughly.

Rolling out
Roll the kneaded dough into a 0.5 cm thick sheet using a rolling pin, sprinkling dry starch as you roll to prevent sticking.

Cutting into strips
Cut the rolled sheet into strips 5 cm long and 0.5 cm wide and set aside.

Deep frying
Heat the oil in a wok until it reaches 70-80% hot, add the sesame strips, and fry until golden and crispy. Remove, let cool, and arrange on a plate to serve.
