Shou Wu Wine (He Shou Wu Herbal Infusion)
Prepared fleeceflower root (Polygonum multiflorum) and rehmannia root (Rehmannia glutinosa) are sliced, steeped in white liquor, and filtered to produce a medicinal wine. It is traditionally used for various symptoms attributed to liver and kidney deficiency.
Ingredients
Shou Wu (processed Polygonum multiflorum, washed and softened, cut into ~1 cm cubes)

Sheng Di Huang (raw Rehmannia root, washed, sliced thinly, and air-dried)

Baijiu (Chinese white liquor)

Preparation and Infusion
Wash and soften the Shou Wu, then cut it into ~1 cm cubes. Rinse the Sheng Di Huang and slice it thinly. Once its surface moisture has evaporated, place it together with the Shou Wu in a wine jar. Slowly pour in the Baijiu, stir to combine, seal the jar tightly, and let it infuse.

Stirring and Bottling
Stir once every 3 days; after roughly 10–15 days, open the jar and strain out the herb residue. The infused wine is ready to drink.
