Sour and Spicy Baby Cabbage

Story

This simple dish delivers a punch of sour and spicy flavors that pairs perfectly with steamed rice.

Ingredients

Baby cabbage to taste
Dried chili peppers to taste
Garlic to taste
Light soy sauce to taste
Mature vinegar to taste
Oyster sauce to taste
White sugar to taste
Water as needed
Salt to taste
Cooking oil as needed

Instructions

1

Prepare ingredients and sauce

Wash the baby cabbage and cut it lengthwise into strips. Cut the dried chili peppers into sections and mince the garlic. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, light soy sauce, mature vinegar, oyster sauce, white sugar, and water. Mix well to create a sour and spicy sauce.

2

Stir-fry the cabbage

Heat a small amount of oil in a wok or pan over high heat. Add the baby cabbage and stir-fry over high heat until it softens slightly and releases a bit of moisture.

3

Add sauce and spices

Pour the prepared sour and spicy sauce into the pan. Add the dried chili pepper sections. Continue to stir-fry over high heat for 1-2 minutes, ensuring every strip of cabbage is evenly coated in the sauce.

4

Season and serve

Cook until the sauce slightly thickens. Taste the cabbage and add a little salt if needed. Turn off the heat and transfer to a serving plate.
