Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

all-purpose flour 2 cup
baking soda 1 tsp
salt 1 tsp
unsalted butter (softened) ¾ cup (1½ sticks)
granulated sugar 1 cup
dark brown sugar (packed) ½ cup
vanilla extract 1 tbsp
large eggs 2
sour cream ½ cup
raisins 1 cup
toasted walnuts (coarsely chopped) 1 cup
bittersweet chocolate (cut into ¼-inch or smaller pieces) 12 oz

Instructions

1

Preheat and Prepare

Position two oven racks near the center of the oven and preheat to 375°F (about 190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl. Set aside.

3

Cream Butter and Sugars

Using an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter, sugars, and vanilla extract on medium speed for about 2 minutes until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add the sour cream and beat until incorporated. Reduce to low speed and add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the raisins, walnuts, and chocolate with a wooden spoon.

4

Baking

Drop the dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake two sheets at a time for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown, rotating and switching the pans halfway through for even browning. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
