Sour Radish Black Fish Slices
The other day when we ate sour fish with pickled mustard greens at a restaurant, Dabao said it was too spicy and asked me to make a large pot for him when we got home. I swapped the pickled mustard greens for pickled radish, and this version is wonderfully appetizing.
Ingredients
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients.
Step 2
Add oil to the pot, and stir-fry the chili, ginger, scallion whites, and fish bones until fragrant.
Step 3
Then add the onion and cook until fragrant.
Step 4
Then add the boiling water to the pot. Adding boiling water helps the broth cook faster and brings out more flavor.
Step 5
Then cut the sour radish and add it to the pot.
Step 6
Then cut the choy sum and add it to the pot, cooking until the flavor comes through.
Step 7
Add fine salt and cooking wine to season.
Step 8
After the broth becomes flavorful, add the fish slices (marinated with cooking wine) and scallion sections. Cook until the fish slices are fully done.
Step 9
Finally, add toasted sesame seeds according to personal preference.
