Steamed Crab
A Shanghai-style steamed crab dish prepared in its own juices, with tender meat and a bright red shell.
Ingredients
crab (rinsed with clean water)
1000 g
yellow wine
15 g
minced ginger
30 g
soy sauce (cooked)
20 g
white sugar
a pinch
MSG
a pinch
sesame oil
15 g
aromatic vinegar (set aside in a small bowl)

Clean the crab
Rinse the crab thoroughly with clean water and place it in a serving dish.

Prepare the dipping sauce
Put the minced ginger in a small wine bowl, then add the cooked soy sauce, white sugar, MSG, yellow wine, and sesame oil and mix well. Set aside another small bowl with the vinegar for later use.

Steam the crab
Place the crab in a steamer and steam over heat for 15 to 20 minutes until the shell turns bright red and the meat is fully cooked. Remove from heat and serve with the prepared dipping sauce and vinegar on the side.
