Steamed Pork in Pumpkin
Zhejiang cuisine with a delicious flavor and smooth, velvety texture.
Ingredients
pumpkin (washed, outer skin peeled, cut a small lid at the stem end with a small knife, seeds and pulp scooped out)
1 (approx 1000 g)
pork belly (washed, cut into large thick slices)
400 g
Shaoxing wine
1 tsp
soy sauce
1 tbsp
sweet bean sauce
10 g
stir-fried rice flour
70 g
chicken powder
to taste
white sugar
to taste
minced scallion and ginger
to taste

Step 1
Wash the pumpkin, peel off the outer skin, cut a small lid at the stem end with a small knife, and scoop out the seeds and pulp.

Wash the pork belly, cut into large thick slices, place in a bowl, add Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, sweet bean sauce, white sugar, chicken powder, and minced scallion and ginger, mix well. Then add the stir-fried rice flour and mix to coat. Fill the mixture into the pumpkin, put the lid on, steam over high heat for 2 hours, remove, and serve in a soup tureen.
