Simmering Process
Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring constantly every 10 minutes during this period to prevent the mixture from burning at the bottom of the pot. After the initial 30 minutes, continue simmering over low heat for another 20 minutes: stir every 5 minutes for the first 10 minutes of this stage, and stay by the pot to stir constantly for the last 10 minutes, as the mixture is very prone to burning at the bottom at this point.
Late-Stage Simmering Appearance
This is what the jam looks like in the later stage of simmering, when it is almost finished:
Doneness Test
How do you know when the jam is fully cooked? Drop a single drop of strawberry jam into a bowl of clear water; if the drop sinks to the bottom quickly and does not dissolve, the jam is simmered to perfection.
Storage and Serving Suggestions
Wait until the strawberry jam cools completely, then transfer it into clean jars and store in the refrigerator. When eating breakfast, spread it on bread or steamed buns to enjoy a delicious meal!
