Sweet Potato Braised Chicken

Story

A comforting home-style dish where tender chicken pieces are slowly braised together with sweet potatoes, allowing the natural sweetness of the potatoes to meld with the savory richness of the chicken. The result is a hearty, flavorful stew with a glossy sauce, often enjoyed over steamed rice for a satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

sweet potato 1 piece
boneless chicken leg 1 piece
soy sauce as needed
rice wine 1 small tablespoon
soy paste 1 tablespoon
mushroom vegetarian oyster sauce 1 tablespoon
water 1 rice cup
shiitake mushroom

Instructions

1

Step 1

First, wash the chicken, dice it, and add soy sauce (just enough to coat each piece with color) and rice wine.

2

Step 2

Peel the sweet potato, cut it into chunks, and boil in hot water for about 3 minutes (just until rolling bubbles appear).

3

Step 3

Stir-fry the marinated chicken first, cooking it until only a slight pink color remains in the meat.

4

Step 4

At this point, add water, sweet potato, soy sauce paste, and mushroom vegetarian oyster sauce. Simply cook until everything is evenly colored, then reduce the sauce to finish.
