Instructions
Soak the dried scallops
Place the dried scallops in clean water and soak until softened. Shred them and pour both the scallops and the soaking liquid into the pot.
Prepare the gourds
Peel and deseed the papaya, then cut it into large chunks. Wash the bottle gourd, trim off the ends, and cut it into thick slices. Wash the chayote, halve it, remove the seed, and set all the prepared gourds aside.
Prepare the corn silk
Rinse the corn silk several times to thoroughly wash away any sand and impurities, then drain well and set aside.
Prepare the pork ribs
Wash the pork ribs, blanch them in boiling water for 5 minutes, then rinse clean and set aside.
Prepare the lily bulbs and honey dates
Rinse the lily bulbs and honey dates in clean water and set aside.
Simmer the soup
Add about 3000ml of cold water to a pot, place all the prepared ingredients into the pot, and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and continue to simmer for 3 hours. Turn off the heat and season with salt to taste.
