Tomato Braised Beef

Ingredients

Salt (or more) 1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder 1/8 tsp
Light soy sauce 1 tbsp
Sugar 2 tsp
Carrot (cut into roll-cut chunks) to taste
Fresh tomato (each cut into 6 pieces) to taste
Canned tomato (drained) to taste
Beef (cut into 4×2×1 cm pieces) to taste
Flour to taste
Oil to taste
Garlic to taste
Onion to taste

Instructions

1

Prepare the carrots

Cut the carrots into roll-cut chunks, place in a heat-resistant container, microwave on high for 2 minutes, remove and drain, set aside.

2

Prepare the tomatoes

Cut each fresh tomato into 6 pieces. Drain the canned tomatoes.

3

Prepare the beef

Cut the beef into 4×2×1 cm pieces, add the flour and mix until evenly coated.

4

Sear the beef

In a 2-liter glass deep pot, add the oil, garlic, and onion, and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Add the beef pieces, arrange them in a single layer, cover, and microwave on high for 5 minutes.

5

Braise

Flip the beef, add both kinds of tomatoes, cover again, and microwave on high for 5 minutes, then switch to medium heat (70% power) for 5 minutes. Add the carrots and seasonings, mix well, and continue on medium heat for another 5 minutes. Taste and adjust the salt. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. The beef will be even more flavorful if it rests in the refrigerator overnight and is then reheated before serving.
