Prepare utensils
Prepare tea tray, electric kettle, Yixing clay teapot, tea presentation plate, fairness pitcher, tasting cups, strainer and strainer rack, tea ceremony set, tea towel, and tea leaves.
Appreciate the tea
Select aged ripe Pu-erh tea for this demonstration.
Rinse the teapot
Rinse the Yixing clay teapot with boiling water to raise its temperature.
Add tea leaves
Place the tea strainer over the teapot spout, use a tea scoop to gently transfer tea leaves into the Yixing clay teapot.
Brew the tea
Pour boiling water into the Yixing clay teapot.
Rinse the tea
Discard the first infusion of Pu-erh tea; this step is called 'rinsing the tea'.
Serve the tea
Pour the brewed tea from the teapot into the fairness pitcher, then use the fairness pitcher to distribute tea into the tasting cups.
Appreciate the tea color
Observe the color of the Pu-erh tea infusion.
Smell the aroma
Inhale the aged fragrance of the Pu-erh tea.
Taste the tea
When ladies taste tea, they may hold their pinky finger slightly raised in a graceful gesture.
