Romaine or butter lettuce
2 heads (about 500g)
Oyster sauce
2 tablespoons
Lao Gan Ma chili oil
1 tablespoon
Sesame oil
1 teaspoon
Garlic, minced
1 clove

Prepare the lettuce
Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly and pat completely dry. Cut each leaf lengthwise into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide. The strips should resemble jade or emerald strands.

Heap the lettuce strips neatly onto a serving plate or shallow bowl. Keep them piled high for visual appeal.
