Chocolate Banana French Toast Towers

Ingredients

thick-cut bread slices 4 slices, cubed
eggs 2 large
milk ½ cup
condensed milk 3 tablespoons
bananas 2 ripe, sliced
butter 2 tablespoons
chocolate chips or dark chocolate ½ cup
vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1

Soak the bread

Whisk together the eggs, milk, and condensed milk in a shallow bowl until smooth. Add the bread cubes and let them sit for 2-3 minutes, flipping halfway through so they soak up the custard evenly.

2

Fry until golden

Heat a splash of oil and a pat of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the soaked bread cubes in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they're golden brown and crisp on the outside. Work in batches if needed.

3

Assemble the towers

Layer the warm French toast cubes in serving bowls or on plates. Add a generous layer of fresh banana slices between the toast, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top. The heat from the toast will melt the chocolate slightly.

4

Serve immediately

Dust with a little powdered sugar if desired and serve right away while the toast is still warm and the chocolate is gooey.
