Classic Black Sesame Cookies

Story

These delightful sesame cookies offer a perfect crunch and a rich, nutty aroma. The dough comes together quickly in a mixer and is piped onto baking sheets for a uniform shape.

Ingredients

Unsalted butter, softened 100g
White sugar 70g
Whole eggs 2
Milk 30ml
All-purpose flour 200g
Roasted black sesame seeds 30g

Instructions

Cream the Base

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and white sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy. Add the whole eggs and milk, continuing to beat until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients

Sift the all-purpose flour into the wet mixture. Fold or mix on low speed until just incorporated, then stir in the roasted black sesame seeds.

Pipe the Dough

Transfer the cookie dough into a piping bag fitted with a star or round tip. Pipe uniform rounds or strips onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake and Cool

Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F). Bake the cookies for about 16 minutes until golden brown. For extra crispiness, you can return them to the oven for a few minutes after they have cooled slightly.
