Clay Pot Mushroom Beef Brisket
Beef brisket and shiitake mushrooms are stir-fried and braised, then served in a clay pot. This dish is traditionally believed to help lower blood sugar.

Beef brisket (washed, cut into chunks)

Mushrooms (remove stems, soak and clean)

Salt

Chicken essence

Soy sauce

Step 1
Wash the beef brisket and cut into chunks; remove mushroom stems, soak and clean.

Bring water to a boil in a pot, blanch the beef brisket, then remove and drain for later use.

Heat vegetable oil in a pan, stir-fry the beef brisket for a few minutes, add mushrooms, season with salt, chicken essence, cooking wine, and soy sauce, stirring well. When nearly done, add cornstarch slurry and simmer until the sauce thickens, then transfer to a clay pot and serve.
