Coix Seed Beauty Porridge

Story

A beloved traditional Chinese porridge prized for its skin-nourishing properties, this gentle dish is simmered to bring out a light, wholesome flavor perfect for supporting healthy, radiant skin.

Ingredients

rice 75 grams
coix seed (rinse, soak in cold water for 2 hours, then drain) 115 grams
Chinese yam (wash clean, peel off the outer skin, cut into dice) 225 grams
lean pork (wash clean, cut into dice) 75 grams
fine salt (for seasoning) 1 teaspoon
MSG (for seasoning) 1 teaspoon

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the coix seeds, soak in cold water for 2 hours then drain; wash the yam, peel off the outer skin and cut into small cubes; wash the lean pork and cut into small cubes

Step 2

Pour water into the porridge pot, bring to a boil over high heat then reduce to low heat, add the rice and coix seeds and cook for 50 minutes, then add the diced yam and diced lean pork and continue cooking for 10 minutes

Finally add the refined salt and MSG, stir to mix evenly and it is ready to serve
