Cold Tossed Houttuynia
Houttuynia (also known as fish mint, or yú xīng cǎo, literally "fishy-smelling grass") has a distinctive fishy aroma, as its name suggests. It is traditionally valued for clearing heat, detoxifying, promoting urination, reducing swelling, and stimulating the appetite. Both the fresh leaves and roots are edible, though the roots are more commonly used. The roots can be stir-fried, cold-tossed, or added to soups.
