Cumin Spiced Beef Skewers

Story

These flavorful skewers feature beef that's been lightly marinated to keep it juicy while absorbing the warm, earthy notes of cumin. The key is cutting the meat into uniform small cubes so they cook evenly on the grill.

Ingredients

Beef chuck or ribeye 500g, cut into 4-6g cubes
Cumin powder 2 teaspoons
Black pepper 1 teaspoon
Garlic cloves 4, finely minced
Soy sauce 3 tablespoons
Vegetable oil 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Wooden skewers 8-10, soaked in water

Instructions

1

Prepare the meat

Cut the beef into uniform cubes weighing approximately 4-6 grams each. Uniform sizing ensures even cooking throughout.

2

Make the marinade

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, vegetable oil, minced garlic, cumin powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until well blended.

3

Marinate

Add the beef cubes to the marinade and toss to coat every piece. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

4

Thread the skewers

Thread 5-6 marinated beef cubes onto each soaked wooden skewer, leaving a small gap between pieces for even heat distribution.

5

Grill

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, turning occasionally, until beef is cooked through and nicely charred on the edges. Total cooking time is approximately 10-12 minutes.
