Craving a healthy and simple weight-loss meal at the office with nothing but a microwave, I had a sudden inspiration since I love eating fish. The whole process took less than half an hour to bake.
Ingredients
Instructions
Step 1
Clean the crucian carp, stuff the belly with ginger, scallions, and garlic. Add a little water, and also add ginger, scallions, and garlic to the water to remove the fishy odor. Microwave on medium-high heat for 5 minutes, flip it over, and microwave for another 2 minutes.
Step 2
The crucian carp is now cooked. The resulting fish broth releases oil and is quite salty; you can pour it out and add a bit of salt, then microwave the broth on high heat for 1 minute. If you find it too fishy, simply pour out the excess broth.
Step 3
You can buy a pre-packaged seasoning mix from the supermarket that has all the spices, but it contains a lot of additives. It is still best to mix your own seasoning powder using salt, cumin, chili, and Sichuan peppercorns, and sprinkle it on both sides of the fish and inside the belly.
Step 4
Microwave on high heat for another 5 minutes and it is done. Note that the fish meat may burst open while in the microwave, so it is best to poke some holes in it midway through. Feel free to reach out to exchange more Sichuan cuisine recipes via WeChat: xling871015
