mulberry mistletoe (washed)

red dates (washed, soaked until soft, pitted)
eggs (boiled, peeled)

Ingredient Preparation

Rinse the mulberry mistletoe (Sangjisheng) and Fo-ti root (He Shou Wu) thoroughly; rinse the red dates, soak until softened, then remove the pits.

Initial Simmering

Place all ingredients into a clay pot, add an appropriate amount of clean water, bring to a rolling boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.

Peeling and Re-simmering

Remove the eggs from the pot, peel off the shells, then return the peeled eggs to the pot and simmer for 1 hour, then add brown sugar, bring to a boil and the dish is ready.
