Sesame Paste Phoenix Tail Lettuce Tips

Ingredients

Tender lettuce tips (peeled and trimmed) 400 g
Fine salt (a pinch for mixing) 3 g
Sesame paste 10 g
Soy sauce 10 g
MSG 0.5 g
Sesame oil 10 g

Instructions

1

Prepare the ingredients

Peel the lettuce tips, trim them neatly, then make four lengthwise cuts at the thick end (cutting through about 3/5 of the length of each tip).

2

Blanch and season

Drop the prepared tips into a pot of boiling water and blanch until just cooked through, then drain. Sprinkle with a pinch of fine salt, toss gently to mix, spread them out, and arrange neatly on a serving plate.

3

Season and serve

In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame paste, soy sauce, MSG, and sesame oil until smooth. Drizzle the sauce evenly over the arranged lettuce tips and serve immediately.
