#Side Dish Recipe# Braised Flat Beans with Savory Minced Meat

Ingredients

flat beans 150g
minced meat 100g
garlic as needed
ginger as needed
scallions as needed
seafood sauce 1 tbsp
oyster sauce a pinch
Pixian doubanjiang a pinch
salt as needed
cooking oil as needed

Instructions

1

Step 1

Pick the flat beans and remove the strings as shown in the picture, wash them thoroughly and set aside.

2

Step 2

Prepare the minced meat — you can use pork belly or pork front leg, with some fatty pieces. Mince the ginger, scallions, and garlic.

3

Step 3

Heat oil in a pan, sauté the ginger, scallions, and garlic until fragrant, then add the Pixian doubanjiang and seafood sauce and stir-fry until aromatic. Use low heat and cook for just a few seconds.

4

Step 4

Add the minced meat and stir-fry until it changes color. Stir-fry a bit longer to render out the fat from the fatty pieces — this makes it more fragrant. This step also removes any gaminess from the meat, so once it's aromatic, braising the beans will be delicious.

5

Step 5

Add the flat beans and stir to combine, add an appropriate amount of water, cover and braise until the beans are tender, then season and serve.

6

Step 6

The sauce is already salty, so add salt sparingly. Savory and flavorful — especially great with rice!

7

Step 7

Finished dish.
