Strawberry Red Wine Ice
A chilled strawberry and red wine ice dessert with a bright fruit flavor, served as a refreshing warm-weather treat.
Story
This bright, chilled strawberry red wine ice is a popular warm-weather treat with ties to traditional wellness beliefs: fresh strawberry is associated with supporting healthy urination, while the added white sugar is traditionally thought to help promote blood circulation and ease blood stasis.
Ingredients
Instructions
Step 1
There are no brand requirements for the red wine; any variety works. Some people feel that using premium red wine for this preparation is a waste, so you can opt for affordable, budget-friendly red wine instead.
Step 2
Half a bottle of red wine, with no brand restrictions—any red wine will work. Some people think using high-quality red wine for this method is wasteful, so you can choose lower-priced, budget red wine instead.
Step 3
A small half-bowl of white sugar, adjusted to your personal preference. If you don't enjoy overly sweet flavors, you can add less.
Step 4
Condensed milk. The condensed milk shown in the image is a local brand we purchased in Brazil; in reality, any condensed milk works, approximately 5 tablespoons. Adjust the exact amount to your liking.
Step 5
One box of ice cubes; we used two boxes for our batch. Adjust the quantity according to your personal preference.
Step 6
A small half-bowl of hulled strawberries. I heard from Mr. Gao that kiwi can be used as a substitute, and it tastes great as well. I personally think the strawberry version has a more appealing color.
Step 7
Pour all the ingredients into a soy milk machine or blender, turn on the switch, and the drink is ready once everything is fully blended into a smooth juice.
