Grandma's Mincemeat Bars
Award-winning bar cookies made with mincemeat and nuts.
Ingredients

all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups
baking powder
1 teaspoon
salt
1/2 teaspoon
granulated sugar
1 cup
mincemeat (jarred or canned)
1 cup
walnuts or pecans (chopped)
1 cup
powdered sugar
as needed

Step 1
Preheat oven to 300°F (about 150°C). Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing the excess paper to extend above the edges.

In a large bowl, combine the eggs, flour, baking powder, and salt, and stir until well mixed (the batter will be thick). Add the sugar and stir until smooth.

Stir in the mincemeat and nuts. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

Bake for 28–30 minutes, until the top is golden and a tester inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes after removing from the oven. Lift the parchment to remove the bars and cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar and cut into bars.
