Story

This homemade red bean paste fills the kitchen with a warm, sweet aroma as it slowly simmers and thickens. The result is a smooth, glossy filling that holds its shape perfectly, ready to be used in buns, pastries, or mooncakes.

Ingredients

Red small beans 400g
Fine white sugar 100g
Corn oil about 60ml

Home-grown red small beans, wash clean

Add clear water covering the beans by about 2-3 cm, soak for more than 8 hours, let the beans fully soak through

Wash the soaked beans twice more, put into the electric pressure cooker, add clear water, just level with the beans

Pressure for 15 minutes, this is the pressed beans

Add soft white sugar

Stir evenly, and press into a paste with a spatula

Select any function menu on the electric pressure cooker, turn on the power, do not cover the lid, the pressure cooker will keep heating

Stir the beans while heating, until the water gradually evaporates and the beans start to become thick

Add corn oil, about 20ml

Stir until the corn oil is fully absorbed before adding the next time, I added 3 times, totaling about 60ml
