Create a whimsical spaceship-themed cake using Madeira sponge, jam-cream filling, and multiple icings.

Instructions
Shaping the Cake
Cut the cake horizontally in half, sandwich with jam and buttercream, cut into two rectangular sandwiches, let rest for 2-3 hours, then cut into triangles to form the spaceship outline.
Covering with Marzipan
Spread warm apricot jam over the cake surface, cover with rolled-out marzipan, and let dry for 12 hours.
Covering with Fondant
Mark the areas of the cake that need icing and make cardboard templates. Roll out some fondant icing and cut according to the templates. Wet the marzipan and lay the fondant over it. Let dry for 12 hours.
Making Wings and Tail
Use cardboard to mark out the wing shapes, adding flaps. Roll out some gum paste and cut to the pattern. Dry at curved edges. Use the same method to make the opposite wing and straight tail.
Making Rocket Nozzles
Divide some gum paste into three portions, shape into cups, place in a plastic egg carton dusted with rice flour to set, unmold once dry, and attach to the tail as rocket nozzles.
Making the Radar Dishes
Roll out a small amount of gum paste and use a cutter to cut out 3 circles. Dry them in a shallow tin.
Decorating the Base
Tint some fondant icing deep blue and cover the cake board. Take additional fondant, knead in blue-green and cut out 1/4 circles for planets. Use a little pink icing cut into small circles for distant planets. Paint stars with silver-white color.
Assembly and Decoration
Use food coloring to paint patterns on the spaceship body, wings, and tail. Use royal icing to glue the wings, tail, radar dish antennae, and rocket nozzles. Adjust the angles and place on the decorated base.
