Ingredients

vegetable oil 1-1/2 cups
sugar 2 cups
eggs (room temperature) 3
all-purpose flour 3 cups
salt 1 teaspoon
baking soda 1 teaspoon
nutmeg 1 teaspoon
cinnamon 1 teaspoon
vanilla extract 3 tablespoons
green apples (diced) 3 cups
pecans (chopped) 1 cup
butter 1/2 cup
brown sugar 1 cup
vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
milk 1/2 cup
pecan halves 2 cups
salt 1/2 teaspoon
brown sugar 1/2 cup
butter (melted) 1/4 cup

Instructions

1

Make the Cake

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Using an electric mixer, beat the vegetable oil, sugar, and eggs until well combined. Add the dry ingredients. Stir in the vanilla extract, apples, and chopped pecans. Pour the batter into a greased jelly roll pan. Bake for 24 to 28 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and fully cooked. Let cool.

2

Make the Sauce

In a saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Bring to a boil, then pour over the cooled cake. Refrigerate once completely cooled.

3

Make the Crisp Topping

The original step cuts off at 'chill in the' and appears incomplete. Based on the ingredients, it is likely that the pecan halves, salt, brown sugar, and melted butter should be mixed together, then either baked or sprinkled on top of the cake.
