Tuxedo Cake

Tuxedo Cake

Ingredients

eggs (room temperature) 4
dark chocolate fudge cake mix 1 box
instant chocolate pudding mix 1 small packet
vegetable oil 1/3 cup
sour cream 1 cup
butter (softened) 1 cup
powdered sugar 3 cup
white chocolate (melted) 6 oz
half-and-half 3 tbsp
lemon juice 1 tsp
vanilla extract 1/2 tsp
salt 1/2 tsp

Make the cake

Preheat oven to 350°F. Whip eggs until thick and pale yellow. Add cake mix, pudding mix, oil, and sour cream, continue beating for 10 minutes. Pour into a greased jelly roll pan, bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool, then cut out circles using the open end of a push pop mold.

Make white chocolate buttercream frosting

Mix butter and powdered sugar, beat with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add melted white chocolate, half-and-half, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat for 2 to 3 minutes or until well combined.

Assemble

Pipe the white chocolate buttercream frosting into a large sealable bag or piping bag. Place a round chocolate cake slice at the bottom of a push pop container, pipe a ring of frosting around the edge. Add another layer of cake slice, pipe another ring of frosting.
