This cake features alternating translucent layers of brown sugar and creamy coconut milk, creating a beautiful striped pattern. Steamed until set and chilled for the best texture, it offers a refreshing, slightly chewy bite with a delicate coconut aroma.

Ingredients

Water chestnut flour
Coconut milk
White sugar
Brown sugar

Instructions

Step 1

Ingredients: Water chestnut powder, coconut milk, brown sugar, white sugar

Divide the water chestnut powder and pour into two separate plates

Dissolve the brown sugar in boiling water, stir into brown sugar syrup; pour the coconut milk and white sugar into the other plate with the water chestnut powder, add boiling water and stir into coconut milk syrup

Add the brown sugar water and coconut milk syrup to the two plates of water chestnut powder respectively, stir and set aside

First put the brown sugar syrup into the pot, spread a thin layer, and steam until translucent

Then add a layer of coconut milk syrup

Repeat the layering and steaming in sequence; each layer will be cooked after steaming for a few minutes
